I have similar starting stats and I didn't even start seeing real improvements until I lost 90 pounds. There's a threshold of body fat in the low 20 percents that blocks most visual gains until you get past it IMO. You'll only look like a smaller fat fuck up to that point. But once you're past it you reap big rewards for further progress.

I've been working out regularly, virtually every day but my diet has been complete garbage. I'm 357lbs and I'm gonna start a 1500 calorie diet today

My goal is to get sub 300 by the end of the year. I threw out all of the soda in my house today. Only water for me.

I have a weird question though. How often should I weigh myself? I know that weight can fluctuate every day even if you're sticking to your diet. Should I space them out to maybe once a week/once every other week?

For really low cals, use the 3% fat cream cheese- that's how I got mine down to 104 cals per slice (as you can see, it's a bit higher here- but even at 125 it's not terrible). It's an odd mix here (lightest and light) as that's alll I had to hand last week.

You can add anything (so I tend to add blueberries), just remember your protein powder is essentially your flavour. Enjoy! It's honestly saved my sweet tooth.

This is my progress since I started 4 days ago. I started lifting with the SL5x5 app 3 times/week and doing C25K after lifting (outside, not on a treadmill like a pussy).

My plan was to lose 0.9kg/week on 1750kcal per day. This is probably water loss from eating less than 30g carbs per day as some Anon pointed out.

My question is, should I eat more on workout days? I really want to slam 100g peanuts right now even though I'm 1750 on point, it would absolutely feel amazing in my mouth.... Help?

Scooby's Workshop says to re-evaluate the numbers each change of 2kg. The r/ketogains subreddit says to give it 2 weeks before checking if the goals are met ad adjusting.

I had my first binge in a very long time today. I've been cutting for almost a year and a half now, and have have been pretty successful (5'8" SW: 316, CW: 158) and lost almost 160 pounds

I'm nearing my goal, but today I just exploded like a fucking supernova and ate everything I could within a 1 hour period. I just went berserk.

I don't incorporate cheat meals because I haven't wanted to slow my progress, and wanted to reach my goal by mid-september. I definitely won't hit that goal now, but I'm starting to wonder if I should just stop cutting for awhile. I'm almost positive most of the weight I'm losing now is muscle, since my lifts recently started going down slowly.

Alright that's a healthier mindset than I assumed, most people just get autistic and it fucks them in the long run.
No one evaluates TDEE weekly like stated, people generally do it every 10 pounds lost, and larger people wait even longer usually.
Calorie cycling isn't a bad idea, you don't have to necessarily think of it as carb cycling but it's a good idea to add a couple hundred calories of carbs before lifting to be able to give it your all, just account for it in your weekly caloric budget.

I would consider under-eating if you feel tired and not able to recover, it's your body and you should be able to pick up on these signals eventually after working out for a while.
Most men can perfectly function on 1500 cals a day so imo it's much easier just to eat that amount during the cut, maybe eating 1200 on rest days and 1800 on days you workout.

Don't over-complicate it too much anon, it's hard to get sub 12% BF with lots of muscle but it isn't hard to lose weight, almost anything will work as long as you are satiated.
Make sure to keep working out though so your body looks better.

Figure out your body's weakness and add accessory lifts to help them (do planks).

5'8" at 158 pounds isn't that bad HOWEVER it is at the top range of healthy BMI.
Let's make a deal anon, get down to 150 pounds, that gives you a little buffer between being fat and not being fat.
Then do maintenance for a while, keep tracking calories but eat at maintenance while lifting.
Lifts will go up and more importantly you will be doing great body recomp, the scale won't move for a while but you'll slowly look better and better.
Give this a few months and keep working hard in the gym, after a few months of eating a maintenance cut down to 140 or so and then do a bulk.

Godspeed anon, I believe you get to that 150 pounds in no time.

That's what I was thinking today with the strong desire for peanuts. Maybe I'll get to 99.99kg with this tempo just leave the 3-digit club (of Europe) and the lifts will get a bit heavier by then.

Disagree with this, it's like the government protein RDA of 80g which is okay for basic human needs but not for physique goals. From what I've read in the SS book, there is no way a 100kg dude doing the big 4-5 lifts multiple times a week with new 5RM's each session (as the SS/SL programs are) can survive on 1500kcal.

I don't mind taking a slower cut, like 1750kcal and 2250kcal, my TDEE according to Scooby's workshop is 2600, 3000 or 3400 depending on the activity level selected.

However that isn't the goal of people trying to lose weight (at least in almost all cases), it's to maintain strength and perhaps gain a little while losing weight.
If you're goals are strength>bodyfat then go for it man, make sure to keep cutting though.

Good choices for accessories, especially face pulls and planks since they hardly affect recovery time for other lifts.
Will warn to not fall for the powerlifter body mean, it's okay to take it slow but just make sure to get rid of the bodyfat anon.
Also rec seated good mornings, easy exercise that won't affect recovery too much and is GOAT for hip flexibility.

Started at 340, down to 320 now.
