>buy more food is cheaper than buying less food
You can cut on the same food as you bulk, therefore there's no logical way that you spend less for more. Unless you're buying pallets of frozen chicken at Sam's Club when you bulk vs. fresh deli selections when cutting.

To bulk you can eat calorically dense foods like peanut butter, milk, butter, etc which is all cheap as shit. To cut you can't touch anything like that, really. You have to still get the same amount of protein, but for less calories, so you end up having to buy things like chicken breast instead of chicken thighs, and the breasts are more expensive.
Also eggs. Bulking means you can have the whole egg which provides like 7g of protein vs just the white which is 4g. $2 for 12 eggs gets you 84g of protein on a bulk, but only 48g on a cut.

>you can't eat those things on a cut

Just what are your goals for calories and proteins, I'm 100% sure we can fix you with a cheap diet that also hits all micros.

What I mean is that those things are comparatively worse than, say, broccoli, on a cut. Of course technically I could make peanut butter and milk fit my macros/calories and eat them on a cut, but for the calories in a tablespoon of peanut butter I could have a plate of broccoli instead, which will fill me up a hell of a lot more.

Egg yolks are fine. The only reasons for eating eggs anyway are the unique micros and the (yolk) cholesterol for test.

Lentils and seitan, man.
Cheap as fuck, complete ammino profile (you'll have to be autismal and play a bit with the numbers for the best ratios, but you can do it), not too bad micros either.
This can cover the 100% of your carbs while giving you maybe 2/3 of your protein needs.
Play with the numbers, throw in some fish and veggies, and you have your cut.
