Are smart watches accurate with the calories lost?

I used to have a fitbit at one time, apparently their off my a little or a lot. Don't know about the other ones.

probably not, iirc the only real way to accurately measure calorie loss is to measure CO2 expelled from the body
No, they invariably estimate high, just to boost your ego, so that you tell all your friends, "look how many calories I burned just by wearing this watch! You should totally buy one too!"

Anything counting calories exerted is going to be off.
Also, it depends on what activity you care about counting calories for. As I understand it, Fitbits and such are just fancy pedometers with better algorithms for accuracy and guessing certain activity types, and any calorie estimate is based on that first. If you're running or walking, it might be fine. If you're doing something else, I don't know what it'll be good for aside from heart rate.
They are famously wrong
A lot of those calorie bands that do just that lost law suits over it,so they now have to use bullshit wording since the damn thing just apouts random numbers.
Just calculate your calories like the rest of us height weight age and activity are more than enough info for you to know how many calories you need if you are consistent about your life style
