Hey, let myself go and need to lose 30 pounds. If I eat well (more lean meat and salads and less Thai takeaway and burgers) plus some moderate exercise is 2 pounds a week for 15 weeks realistic? If not, what's a better goal?
yes, that works out to 1000 calorie deficit a day which is very doable and not really that aggressive

1000 calorie deficit from what I was doing or what is normal?

Reading the sticky
If you want to lose weight, the food literally does not matter. What matters is the calories. Aim for 1500 calories a day and you will lose at the rate you want no problem.
If you wanna lose while also not being dead tired and lose your musculature, stick to lean foods.

Thanks. I think 1,500 calories a day is low but doable

No problem. You can adjust the amount of calories each week depending on how you feel versus your weight change. Eat less, lose weight faster. Eat more, lose weight slower.
Once a week have something fatty and high calorie, like a burger or a milkshake ot some beef n broccoli. That will keep you sane and help your body avoid starvation mode.
If you want to not die, try to ensure you get all your nutrients from food and supplements. Fish oil pills help

dont' fuck up your metabolism by having too big a deficit for too long. You're gonna crack and eat a ton one day and it'll put you back for a long ass time

I don't think it's the amount of food I'm eating it's just how bad it is
