How many sets per muscle group should be done every week? What's the ideal range?

Asking because I am now following a routine with just ~20 sets per muscle group per week (so for example just 2 excersises (4-5 sets each one) for pecs every gym session, 2 times per week) and I'm feeling like it's a bit too low. But maybe it's just ok and I'm being paranoid.

Remember to take into account the overlap between muscles if you do compound exercises.
(Like bench press targeting triceps too).

it varies from person to person. anywhere from 40-90 reps/week per muscle should be enough to force hypertrophy.

I was looking for a /sqt/, I'm guessing this is the best place for it.

Been doing stronglifts for about 4 weeks now.
Today I couldn't do my last rep, but now - 5-6 hours later - I feel nothing in the muscle, no aches or even a little tension.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
If I can't do my last rep on my last set do I need to lower the weight?
