I left a lucrative career in law to be a firefighter, and while I'm happier, I make significantly less money. Why is this the case? My point is just that capitalism is a shit system for literally everyone who is not already sustainably happy. If you like making money, capitalism is not for you because you're statistically extremely unlikely to make any amount of money that matters. If you like societal progress, capitalism is not for you because it prohibits the best and brightest from actually getting anything done. If you like the amount of money you have and want to keep roughly that amount of money forever while working forty hours a week to maintain it, and you don't have any qualms about the wellbeing of anyone else in the world, and don't have any desires to see the species prosper in any way, then capitalism is for you.

I agree on the 3 points you make in the beginning. Meritocracy is dead as of right now. A meritocratic system would work, could work, and even a capitalistic system could work with somewhat of a barter-trade between countries. But, fiat money, and central banking of course killed it. My biggest motivation is looking back on my prime years (15 - 23) and remembering how I completely wasted them by sitting inside my parents house, smoking weed, playing videos games and sitting on the computer. I was eating like shit, frail and skinny, had no sense of style, had no sense of responsibility or purpose, had no money and no idea how to make money with no skills.

I went through a pretty rapid change over the past 2 years. I started lifting and eating whole foods, I got a shitty call center job, which by chance ended up leading to another job in the private equity industry, I learned about finance and investing from some very intelligent people, I developed hobbies and interests that I hope to pursue and perfect over my lifetime. I made new friends by putting myself out there and not being afraid of looking stupid. I had a few flings and a few short relationships because I allowed myself to express interest in others, even if they didn't feel the same towards me.

I'm 25 now and I still live with a lot of regret. I try not to let it hold me back, and instead I try to use it as motivation. I often catch myself saying "You don't want to waste any more time". There is a sense of urgency in my life now. I am upfront and honest with people, I have more direct conversations. I negotiate things now and don't just accept things as what they are. I try to have an effect on others whenever possible.

In 5 years you are going to end up at either a designed or an undesigned destination. I'm doing everything I can to make sure that when those 5 years are up I am living exactly how I want to and doing the things that I want to be doing.

Do you think China wants to be attached to America if/when it fails? They formed BRICs so that if the west falls they can swoop in a takes its place. The only reason they haven't left is because they are far from complete in recruiting other nations and increasing their financial capabilities to replace America as a world reserve currency(replacing the dollar with the Yuan or whatever currency BRICs agrees upon). This in part is due to their shit military as well but don't think any country will stick to backing the USD if it plummets into oblivion. BRICs doesn't have to be the best, it only has to be better then the West. And force restarting western civilization, a la racewar, civil war, genocide, etc. will only play out against us.

Africa is rich in resources. If the west falls a new colonialism of Africa will start and China is more prone to working with Africans as "equals" compared to Europe. The reason why Socialism and Communism fail is because nobody is free to roll the die of chance, to gamble with their life, and are obligated to work for every grain of rice they receive. The farmers' crop is not their crop, but the "People's", the Doctor is paid as much as a nurse (More effort, more time spent, but no more money), and rampant corruption will occur because the police are given shit pay for the harsh jobs they deal with.

If you want to "help the world", build infrastucture and schools in those third-world countries you cry about so much. "Abuse" the system that abuses nobody and help the lives of those actually abused in Corpratist/Authoritarian regimes.
