I've been weightlifting for 4 years and honestly yes, training for it gave me debilitating patellar tendinopathy basically barring me from doing all the fun sports I used to enjoy, now I'm trying to rehab it

Olympic weightlifting in general is a very safe sport. It's not safe when A. you lift with shit form for high reps (CrossFitters) and B. when you're seriously pushing your body to maximum, such as in a high stakes competition or if you're on the Bulgarian Meme method.
