Has anyone ever felt a fever or insomnia because of overtraining? I'm feeling both right now, feelsbadman.jpg
Yes story of my life.
Past two weeks have been shit sleep for me. 6 hours average, mostly less. Last night I finally slept well and still it's not enough.
I suggest finding anyway to sleep tonight whether it's with weed or something. The fever is from the heat and your brain frying from no sleep mate trust me I know this feelin.

Thanks anon I'll give that a try

I usually suffer from insomnia when I overtrain. I will wake up at the same time every night; unironically it's 4:20 AM every time. What I find helps is I just taper down, take a week off, or switch routines.

Yeah I'm on PHUL right now and am going to take a week off

Deadlift flu, aka underrecovering. You didn't sleep/eat/hydrate enough
I get it at least twice a month since I'm on a 6day/week volume heavy program.
Eat a moderately heavy breakfast, stopping before you're really full. Do some light bw stuff and walking to get the blood moving. Whatever you do, don't sit for an extended period and don't nap; it'll only prolong this or make it worse. Stay hydrated. If you're not pissing clear it's not enough. Take aspirin/ibuprofen if needed.
Repeat for lunch and dinner.
Do not skip a workout unless this is so bad that you can't move on your own.
At about a lean 190lbs, I need around 3000-4500 kcal a day to avoid DL flu. If you're training and eating right it's near impossible to get fat even on that much food

Magnesium, iron, melatonin.
And lay off the weed or alcohol if you're doing that

I drink maybe 2 times a month, sometimes more depending on parties or cocktails. Smoked twice but didn't like it. But usually the "insomnia" is only over the summer during which I drink less over the summer than I do the school year. I get plenty of Mg from food already. Not big on taking melatonin pills. That's more of a personal thing.
Is there anything else that I could do? I find just changing my routine and doing less helps the most.

And when I do drink, it's never more than the equivalent of 3 or 4 shots because I aim to get a buzz.

Yo that's exactly what is happening to me right now.
I tried taking Zinc, Magnesium and even melatonin but nothing seems to work.

You can't lift balls to the wall, maintain or cut weight, and have shit sleep all at the same time.
And unless you've had a full blood array done recently with vitamin levels don't tell me you're getting enough from diet. If you're here you need more vit d, magnesium, zinc, and iron than the average couchsitter.
Now to add on. Fix your sleep. Get blue blocking glasses, earplugs, a fan; whatever it takes so that you fall asleep fast and easy. That's the core of the problem. Fix your nutrition, which is minor in comparison, and your energy levels should skyrocket unless you have some debilitating chronic condition

bad advice. if you're sleep is off due to overtraining then you definitely do not want to work out for a week, maybe two weeks. only work out when you are fully recovered is a good advice
