Minimalist Routine Thread

What do you think of this /fit/?

MWF

Pulldown/chin-ups
Overhead Press
Squat

All reps are 5x5 with ramping sets.

Beginners can start with the bar and keep increasing 2.5 lbs a workout for the top set.

This may seem small, but it gets you to a 135 lb press in 3 months without much injury risk.

Bench and deadlift can be added once the 1 plate press is achieved so that you get something like this:

Day A

Weighed Chin-ups
Press
Squat

Day B

Deadlifts
Bench
Squat

Given your OHP base, bench should progress at least 5-10 lbs every time you do it.

good for beginners, better for achieving muscular damage to stimulate growth than a 5x5 would imo.

Don't start at bar for OHP. Start at 95lbs. Anyone who can't OHP 95lbs is a female or a child. Hammer out as many reps as you can every time you OHP. Supplement with dumbbells.

Shoulders respond well to volume.

T. 185lbs OHP and not even fit
