Which is better overall? How would switching squats for box squats to legal depth affect my training?

Today was my second day back to the gym after hurting my knee while squatting. I watched athleanx's video on knee tendonitis and doing box squats to fix it. I have to use a bench to box squat and I'm not hitting parallel because of it but it's better for my knee right now. Do you want to do box squats because of an injury or because you just want to? Either way no one is stopping you and you can switch between the 2 and see how it affects your training.
Do both. Maybe like 2 weeks regular and 2 weeks box
