Nutritionlet here, are canned sardines as potentionally dangerous as canned tuna? Would it be bad eating 2-3x/week?
better than tuna because they have less mercury although less brotein as well and also worse taste for most

The lower the fish is on the food chain, the less the mercury risk. Shark>Tuna>Sardine

i eat canned sardines (king oscar) all the time and i've only died twice
I liked them more than I expected. I get them in Chili Sauce and add tobasco.
Except I really hate burping after. It always tastes like sardines. It freaks me out.

they're tasty as fuck. how could you not like them - you just have to make sure you're getting quality, not shit like Bumblebee. I usually a brand called "granadaisa morrocan sardines in olive oil" they're my go to, but I'm sure you can find better quality. Even ebay sells em I usually get em for 2usd ea
acceptable to eat every day, very low mercury
>pop lid a bit
>poor juice down sink
>peel top
>put salt/pepper/mustard to taste
>enjoy
very tasty. two tins plus sides is a good meal.

Used to hate them but now I love them. I always try to find decent quality cans with the fish sourced from the Atlantic or near the Arctic rather then Thailand or some shit as there's definitely a difference, taste wise. Usually love having them on a slice of very hearty, seeded bread. And you'll be more than fine eating them a few times a week.
2016+1
Not eating canned smoked oysters
Thinking you're still going to make it.
What about kippers/herring?

You shouldn't eat red tuna more than once a week because it is high in mercury
Sardines are extremely low in mercury (most sardines have no mercury)
The general test of how much mercury a fish has is its place on the food chain. Predatory fish like Grouper, Swordfish, Tuna, Shark, etc. are high in mercury but fish like Sardines and Salmon are very low.
TL;DR: Eat as much sardines as you want. You can't eat too many.
Wild planet sardines in water with sea salt are the bomb.
