I had really undefined lower abs, was at about 6% bodyfat with a faint outline of the last 2 abs for an 8pack. Bulking again incorporating deadlifts this time and I can honestly say clenching your core hard as fuck during heavy compounds helps you develop your abs. That along with kneeling cable crunches. I always see my 6pack now even bulking

Admittedly don't clench ab enough during squat and deadlift, even though they're both at passable lbs and I do hanging sit up+hlr
