On an associated subject I've had good results with having some carbohydrates with me during a workout. Fuel made for endurance athletes works well, something using maltodextrin for the carb source. Also the electrolytes are a good thing since you're sweating and losing some of them. All you need is 200kcal per hour to keep muscles fuelled for the anaerobic activity that is lifting.
