Just keep in mind that your MRV (Maximum Recoverable Volume) will be lower on a fat loss phase than on a mass phase, so don’t go ham and push it too far. So if you can handle 22 sets per week on average per bodypart when massing, maybe an average of 16 sets would be a good cutting baseline.

I put up similar numbers, I'm guessing you're over 6' tall? Tall guys with a big reach often have unimpressive bench stats, it's simply a matter of torque.

Your body needs to complete 2 motions in a bench, a pectoral flye and a tricep extension. The closer your hands the lower the torque on the flye, like hanging a weight from your elbow instead of your hand.

For me I feel 2 distinct motions to my bench, if I'm gonna fail it's on the flye not the tricep. I could go up in weight by bringing my hands in but I care a lot more about arm strength than my pecs

So type 1 muscle fibers respond to hypertrophy training. Compared to type 2x muscle fibers they grow at a rate of 20%.

The opportunity cost of focusing on high rep ranges in exchange of heavy lifting is around 60% of your gains. (Not 80, because you do engage type 2x fibers to a degree with hypertrophy training.)

Not only that, but you are decreasing the test boost you get from high weight low reps.

I think increasing volume from a two day 4x4 and 4x8 to two days of 4x6 and 4x8 is not a bad idea on a cut.

However every repition in volume has a diminishing return. 4-8 rep range produces similar efficiency, but at different ends of the range target 2a and 2x fibers differently.

Past 8 reps you see diminishing returns. Past 12 reps you see negative returns on muscular adaption. The decrease in musculature is a function of the opportunity cost of not lifting heavy and homeostastis.
