it depends on what you call fit. If for you "fit" is being able to squat 3 plates or running a half marathon confortably then absolutely not.
Climbing develops biceps and triceps but also uper chest and back strength, core strength and mad grip stentgh. If you want to git gud it'll also make you train your flexibility and balance.
Also climbing is tons of fun when you're not injuriating yourself.
I used to go to a gym with a treadwall. That thing was awesome.

It's good for your calves and forearms. Otherwise it doesn't offer much advantage over regular cardio and lifting. You will gain a stronger back, biceps and legs with a lifting routine in a shorter amount of time.
