Downsizing on legs?

Legs are weird. If you train them twice a week (like PPLPPLx for instance) your legs will be completely out of proportion with your upper body. Is it smart once you've reached a decent size with your legs to stop training them or lower it to 1 day a week or something? Having massive legs is annoying:

disproportional body, strange fitting pants/shorts, lots of work for little gain etc.

So yeah. Dial it back.
