I have skinny wrists.
Has anyone else seen improved upper body gains by incorporating direct forearm work? (both aesthetic and strength) If so, what have you done?
Well, you could climb, but I am assuming you are a gymrat and you will stick out like a sore thumb in a climbing gym, but yeah, just climb.

my friend's roommate climbs, and swears by it. But I am pound for pound stronger than either on pullups and dips.
And the question isn't whether or not I can climb, it's what upper body gains will I get. Is it worth my time.

Climbing has absolutely nothing to do with pullup strength, I can strap 40 kg to 68kg BW and bang out 5 reps no problem, but I am in no way a better climber because of it.
Your forearm muscles only control your fingers, I don't really know what you expect in terms of upper body gains. Your pullup strength might improve by a miniscule, but isolating fingers on a hangboard is not really something you want to do without mileage as a climber, and no, your 4pl8 diddly doesn't mean shit as far as hangboard training is concerned. Deadlifts require crushing, hanging from an edge requires tendons, open-hand strength, which diddlies do not train.

Climbing is about finger strength, leg strength, balance, flexibility, and problem solving.
