>he judges his progress by the scale
DYEL?
I was looking for qtddtot but I'll ask here, I've been lifting for about a month and a half and my body looks a lot better but I have literally not lost one pound. I've even had co workers and friends tell me I look like I've lost weight so what the hell?

hello red dot

You've lost fat and gained muscle. That's to be expected if you started exercising without reducing calories.

When you start working out, your body starts storing more glycogen in the muscles as a response to this. Which easily accounts for what weight may have been lost in that time in fat.
This is a very common occurence among new dieters and lifters.
>start dieting
>lbs falling off week by week
>start lifting after a while
>weight loss stalls for weeks
>after a while, weight loss continues as normal as muscle glycogen levels stabilise
Also, to OP, the scale is a good tool for judging progress, but of course should not be the only method because not all weight is "bad" weight.
