There is no point trying to tell people they might not be the authority on shit.
Fitness and gym related shit is especially affected by it. Whatever is the latest shit someone read in a fitness magazine, forum or website is now passed off as their own authoritative wisdom and they won't accept anything else. Nod and smile, and let your gains speak for themselves.
I started lifting 5 years ago, I on SS, my buddy on a bodybuilding split. Guess who looks better now? Yet he was convinced he was doing the right thing.

bodybuilding splits are good if you hit each muscle group 2 times per week. i assume your friend only worked each muscle group 1 time per week, so its probably not good.
