OP, have you tried the 8/16 intermittent fasting? It's the only thing that has worked for me in the past two years. I ballooned up to 225 pounds last summer due to eating too much shit (also a med I'm on causes weight gain which of course I used to justify my horrible eating patterns). From June-December last year I went to the gym 3 times a week but still ate like shit. At the end of the year I was down to 220. From January to April I did the same thing, lost another few pounds down to 215, but one pound a month is laughably slow. End of May I started intermittent fasting.

I'm now down to 195 pounds with my goal of 170 pounds likely to be met by spring at the latest. Intermittent fasting SHREDS fat. I sleep like a baby now, my blood pressure went from the 150's to under 130, I have more energy, and I am starting to look less terrible. I still have a ways to go, but it gets easier every day.

Stop dieting, start water fasting. It's a really easy program to follow: don't eat, period.
