So I started lifting a few months ago.
I've been doing 4-5 days a week.
I've been reading a lot about the health benefits of cardio and how it helps your overall health and biomarkers (blood pressure, cholesterol , disease risk and mood) a great deal. I'm thinking of cutting back on lifting and doing cardio 3 days a week and lifting 2-3 days.
Is it true that cardio kills gains or is that just broscience? Are the health benefits of cardio greater?

Do some form of cardio even if it's just walking a few miles everyday.

Cardio won't kill gains as long as you eat enough to offset the calories burned from it. If you have no problem with eating more food then go for it.

Why every day?

Cardio burns calories and leaves you and your muscles worn out for a bit. Just do cardio after lifting, but not before or in rest days.
Don't cut back in lifting.

Walking is petty light exercise, but it's helpful if you do it consistently. 10k steps a day is a common baseline.
