How critical is the 48 rest period for a muscle group really? If I feel good and ready to go, is there really anything wrong with working out that muscle group again the following day? I just feel like I have a quicker recovery period than most and I lose a lot of days I could be training because "lol you gotta recover dude".

If you have a "quicker recovery period than most," you're probably not working hard enough.
I deadlift once a week and still feel like I'm not resting enough.

Yep and I can deadlift everyday because I have very low volume. Do more sets OP.

Olympic weightlifters do not wait 48 hours between training sessions.
There's that quote:
>if something is important - do it every day. If it's not important - don't do it at all.
There's plenty of succesful routines that have you squatting or lifting or pressing every day.
