1: Most women are obsessed with "being special/different". Ever heard "I'm not like the other girls"? Yeah, they're all the same but will never admit it. Or how they throw a temper tantrum if a girl has the same dress/bag whatever at a party.
When you're fat, you become amorphous, so the only way you can be "special" is by putting on very bright makeup, cutesy clothes etc.
They think it hides their defects. Kinda like reverse body dysmorphia. While you focus on your wrists being too small or whatever, they focus on their bright colored lips and think "so cute!" forgetting all about their disgusting fat, hoping others will feel the same.

2: Women don't like fixing problems. They usually just try to throw money at it until it goes away.
House is dirty? Let's buy this fancy cleaning new cleaning room with steamwhatever! (then proceed to use it once then forget all about it).
Fat? Maybe those miracle pills will do! Or maybe this "fat loss tea" will! Or in this case, make up and fancy clothes.
