I adopted a 2.5 year old Lab/Collie mix in January from the city shelter.

That damn dog is the smartest and highest energy dog I have ever had or been around. She learns everything the first time and gets visibly ashamed when she knows she ignored a command.

She hadn't been with us for even 2 weeks before becoming overprotective of my two kids and she will not lay in her bed until she's made sure I've checked the doors at night.

Fun fact: mutts have proven to be superior in nearly every facet of fitness and health. The don't even use huskies or malamutes as sled dogs anymore because they've figured out that mutts are stronger and hardier.

Purebred dogs are antiquated status symbols, like sterling silver dishware and pale skin.
