Also it won't help you stay asleep; only get to sleep.

Yes it is, just a mild one.
Also artificial melatonin lowers the quality of sleep. You fall asleep quicker but that's the trade-off.
Regardless I don't want to form an addiction to a sleeping pill whether it's physical or psychological. That's the last thing I need.
