In short it seems to suggest a lower carb higher fat diet is excellent for weight loss/general health.

I was considering going on keto to lose the last 30 pounds to hit my goal weight because ive been struggling.,

Pros:

>Good for weight loss.
>Apparently good for general health.
>Satiating diet which makes it very easy to eat under maintenance to lose weight.
>Steady energy levels throughout the day.

Cons:

>Will rob you of energy during intense physical activity
>Means you've got to forgo beer pretty much entirely which is a bummer if you are a social drinker
>Can't eat a lot of really delicious things ever again

The lack of performance can be somewhat addressed using TKD or CKD which basically involve carbing up before working out or at the weekend, respectively, but you still won't perform as well as someone with carbs in their diet. Not really an issue unless you're an athlete and competitive.

It has been good for my needs. A little dextrose and coconut oil in coffee before working out keeps the gains coming. Avoiding sugar and carbs otherwise keeps the fat off.
Skin is better, hair is better, mood is better, erections are WAY better (wasn't expecting it but I'm getting really nice fat boners at the drop of a hat)...

Give it a try and see how you like it. Just remember that, during the initial transition you will feel fatigued and pretty lousy. Keep your electrolytes up and make sure to consume plenty of fat to combat this and after a couple of weeks you will feel great.

You can get pretty big on keto, you just won't be super huge or strong.

That is true. If you're keen on cycling or distance running keto can up your endurance.

When it comes to strength and intense athletic performance you can do well on keto but just not as well as you would if you had carbs in your diet.
I can slow lean bulk on keto and put 100lbs on all my lifts but I'd do it in half the time if I ate carbs.
Thing is I get bloated on carbs. I get shit skin on carbs. I have all kinds of shitty issues that completely clear up on keto that are worth more to me than being stronger and faster.
Unless you compete in some way it just doesn't matter. You're still stronger and fitter than almost everyone.
Being effortlessly lean, all year round, without any effort or hunger is awesome.

And like I said you can use a little dextrose (15g) about 30 minutes pre-workout to keep a steady supply of glucose in your muscles and to get that post-workout insulin response that helps to create muscle. A few hours later you're back in keto. As long as you avoid fats in that few hour post workout window you're golden and you will have a better time working out and adding strength/mass without dropping the keto benefits.

Have to wait until you're fat adapted though.
