Also I see squat plugs mentioned here a lot. Do they really help with gains? Where do you recommend I get one?

My #1 regret when it comes to lifting is the fact I spent almost 10 months fucking around in the gym and wasting my time before finally getting a squat plug and seeing real results. I would say if you're even remotely serious about lifting you absolutely need one.

we are a group of friends that lift together and we often play the squat plug game.
we all share the same plug and try to out squat each other.
the loser has to stick the plug in his mouth.
I break my PR nearly every week just so i don't lose.
