Hey /fit/, I've been doing stronglifts for a little while but past knee issues have resurfaced (feelsbadman) so I have now come to a point where I can no longer comfortably do squats, even with wraps. At this point should I even continue the stronglifts program minus squats or switch to something else?
Current lifts (5x5) were
Squat - 275
Deadlift - 300 (could do more but just following stronglifts progression)
Bench - 170
OHP- 130
Row - 135
I wanted to keep doing a strength routine but feel not having squats just ruins it. Anyone been in a similar situation? How did you change it up?
pls

yes. I just stopped doing squats and my knees felt way better. What do you want, a 4pl8 squat or knees? Lifting at the detriment of your joints is ego lifting.

Right but squats are basically the cornerstone of the program. You think I should just drop SL and do some split?

I don't know it's up to you really. But if you don't do squats then you can't really do SL so you probably would have to do another routine. Instead of dropping squats completely maybe try adjusting your form or trying a different variation of squats like low bar, front squats etc.

Yea Ill probably give it another week for my knee to feel 100% then drastically lower the squat weight and work my way up carefully.

if strength is your goal, you can still get strong at bench, ohp, close grip bench, pullups, chinups, rows, deadlifts, sumo deadlifts
if you have preexisting knee injuries, don't squat
also SL is garbage anyway

been going to the gym for about a year now, and i just don't overdo squats, its my weak point now. took a lot of time to realize i won't be able to squat the same amount of weight i use to, so i just work on form now with my squats with minimal weight.
(5x5)
squat: 250
bench:225
deadlift: 325
ohp: 200
i usually wear a sleeve on my knees now to help. doesn't make much difference, but stops my knees from popping out when i go ass to the grass.
Search for Bulletproof Knees by Mike Robertson it is on libgen,it might help.

If your knees are hurting from squats, you are doing the squats wrong. The correct solution here is to learn how to do squats properly.

if i have knee issues and have to swap squat for less intensive leg exercies, should i just do push pull instead of push pull legs?

t. DYEL who actually did a routine written by a guy who deadlifts 450 after over 10 YEARS of training
never (You) me again newfag

You're actually completely, 100% wrong. It's possible that you just can't do squats due to knee issues, and it won't matter how good or bad your form is.

wtf at ohp to row ratio
MY STATS WHAT'S WRONG WITH THEM
Sqwat 295
