I've seen studies to support both sides of the argument, whats the verdict. Is keto advantageous in any way to a balanced diet or is it just good for diet adherence(meme)

double bump

Look up "carb cycling".
It's keto but done properly for lifters.

Good for cutting, shit for longevity. If you do it, only use it for cuts. Don't use it as a long-term diet as it just isn't healthy for living a long life.

Keto is good to lose/maintain weight because it reduces appetite and maintains satiety. You still have to eat less calories than your body burns to lose.
>>
>>42386618
A lowish carb diet probably is good for longevity though.

carbs aren't an essential macro

Not really, all long-living populations have high fruit and vegetable intake, with meat and high fat foods being the minority in the diet. All evidence points to a plant-based diet with small amounts of lean meat/seafood as being the best for longevity.

No one claimed that, retard.
>>
>>42386635
No but its good for muscle development

The Inuit and native populations of areas like Siberia have high vitality, low rates of disease, and a diet that is almost entirely fat/protein.

not him, but true
IMO you should try to eat what your genetic background would have eaten 100s of years ago
