What's the simplest way to get into a routine/schedule? I don't want to study and make spreadsheets, I just want to exercise effectively instead of wandering around the gym not knowing what to do. Goal is to drop from 220 to 175(ish) and achieve acceptable aesthetics/muscles/general fitness. What do?

Doesn't get simpler than that. Add rows or chinups and lat raises, maybe curls too

People just make it complicated, if you have no idea what you are doing just hire a PT for a month or so. If you are a poor fag just use the machines. /fit/ bashes them all the time but they will do.

I hope no one gonna follow that bullshit.

>Mom bought me 6 PT sessions at a gym near me for my birthday
>Never used one before
Would this be a good opportunity to have someone check my form? I don't really know what else a PT will help with besides spotting. I feel like I could be utilizing this more but I don't know how to because I've always been averse to using PTs because it makes me somewhat anxious.
Also I'm not OP but is the advanced novice routine in >>42371347 a good Push Pull to move onto after doing greyskull/starting strength for 3-5 months?

99% of trainers just make things worse

idk what kind of gym you go to but if the PT's are any good they will be able to help you with just about everything you are looking for.
Just don't be like me ten years ago and think going to the gym twice a week will make you lose weight in any significant way.
Fitness is a life long commitment.

You lift less than Izzy so your opinion is irrelevant

>is the advanced novice routine in >>42371347 (You) # a good Push Pull to move onto after doing greyskull/starting strength
No, why would you do a novice routine after stalling in one?
If you're an early intermediate, Candito's linear routine is probably your best bet

I've heard very good testimonials from N-suns weekly 531 LP too but I haven't tried it

Sorry but no. It IS complicated because proper form is hard to achieve and repeat every time without risking injuries.
This is where machines come to fill the gap. This anon >>42371406 is right

Squat bench deadlift
interval training for cardio, ideally something uphill or full contact
