Surely they protect from small shards of glass? Sharp rocks? Legos?
The only real benefit I can tell is they feelfuckingamazingman.
But that's up to preference I guess. Pretty sure they don't help your runs in any way shape or form. Also if You're gonna get a pair make sure the soles are reinforced with some bullshit, had a mate who basically stepped on a huge glass-shard. Cut his foot pretty bad.

do you know any good ones?

I run 10 - 12 miles per day, and I swear by them. Once you get them you will immediately notice a difference in knee pain, however your calfs will be super sore, which is better for long term running. my advice find a good off-road trail to build up the the strength in your calfs and toes before you hit the road.

>Run 10-12 miles a day
Are you a competitive runner or something? I feel like that's excessive.

I got a pair of minimums trails. When i first started running in them my feet and calves would hurt but now they don't. Never had any other issues with them. I don't run a lot though only 3- 4 miles once or twice a week.
