I'm about to transition from kickboxing to boxing
Is there anything I should keep in mind that isn't obvious at first thought?

I'll admit to not knowing too much about kickboxing, but I'm betting you'll have to get used to clinching to tie a guy's arms up, leaning your weight on him to make him tired. You'll also have to get used to all kinds of subtle and not-so-subtle fouling. Watch Bernard Hopkins, Terry Norris, Andrew Golota, Edison Miranda, to have some idea of the shit dudes try to get away with. You should probably also look up Carlos Monzon and the Klitschkos during their prime to see how to fight tall, and look up Paul Williams to see how not to (watch him get poleaxed by Sergio Martinez; if you have any talent for boxing you'll see it coming a mile away because he just doesn't adjust).
