Anyone else on /fit/ climb?
Climbing general thread.
I boulder, around a v4/5, been doing it for a year and a half now. The forearm gains are seriously insane, and it's honestly so much more fun than just straight lifting. I love having a sport to use as my workout (although I do lift as well so that I don't end up looking like Popeye).

This will be year 11 for me. Crag or gym? Also what region
Was a big climber until I moved to smalltown midwest for work.I miss it so much, senpai. Never give it up.
Yes but only do sport now. Haven't led trad in a long time and don't have a rack.
Did my first lead on trad at the Gunks though. Second pitch, already 100 feet of the deck on the first move, overhung (since it's the Gunks and even 5.5 is overhung).
Almost shit myself.

Gym, SoCal. I can't afford a crash pad at the moment so I'm stuck indoors until that happens.

You should buy a hangboard for your house, mount that shit and keep your hands strong.

Yeah I've only done roped climbing once and that shit is terrifying, we only went up about 50 feet but fuck it's so scary. Fun at the same time though.

>used to love climbing
>went out with friends every month to various spots
>bulked up over time
>climbing became incredibly difficult to the point of frustration
>stop enjoying it as much
Sad times man.

Ayy cunt don't worry about the crash pad. You don't need it. Just don't be a goober. You're gonna fall and hit rock, hard, at some point, rope sans rope pad or sans pad. It's going to hurt and your gonna feel like a lil babyback bitch and probably just dangle for a while as you contemplate your life. Embrace it
Also invest in ropes since you're out west, there's so much nice stuff within reach of you.
