Are cold showers just a meme?
Yeah. I'm hard as brick no matter how cold the water gets.
Apparently a warm shower helps reduce pain and injury by encouraging blood flow, but its not that major. If you want to cool down, have a cold shower. If you want to relax, have a warm one.

They're no meme, I seriously got more jacked by taking them during a period where I couldn't really work out at all. You feel really good afterwards, and they're great for your skin.

I'll add that I take contrast showers though and start off nice and hot, but I do always end them cold and try push the limit.

Only a fucking retard will say they are a meme, there are studies done on it, cold shock therapy and all this other shit.
you also hardly ever get sick, i haven't been sick since last year
Start out hot and end cold for optimal shower gains

nah they're nice, but if after one week of taking cold showers you feel no benefit don't bother continuing.
I like them because I feel more energetic after

Oxymoron, warm water does not encourage blood good, but the opposite. Cold showers encourage blood flow because the body is trying to warm up.

>getting sick, ever
wow.... why are some people's immune systems so weak? didn't play in the dirt enough as a kid?

>aunt is an over controlling clean freak
>house smells of disinfectant constantly
>kids are basically germaphobes
>hate getting messy
>her kids all have incrediblly weak immune systems; constantly getting sick
I used to crawl into my dog's basket and cuddle up next to it as a kid, and play outside constantly and get muddy and generally dirty as fuck, and I barely get sick at all as an adult
last time I took one in winter I spent half the day shivering in my 12 degree house, got sick afterwards.
It's impossible to take a freezing shower in winter with an indoor house temp of 10c

Hypothermia causes blood to be shunted to the core, hot water lowers blood pressure, increasing blood flow to muscle tissue.
This is why old people feint in saunas and hot tubs.
