I'm stronger on deads witb bare handed mixed grip than normal overhand grip with straps. Do you think that this will cause muscle imbalances in my back? Also I do 5x5 on deads and I'm considering to change them up and do partial deadlifts or rack pulls instead, to emphasize on back muscles and not glutes, hams and hips.
Not sure, I do double overhand (proper grip) because I'd rather not increase the chance of tearing a bicep. To me, double overhand is like a high bar, full depth squat - it's more difficult than some powerlifting bastardization, but the risk of injury is much lower and it's far, far more impressive to do a lift the proper way. Plus double overhand passes over to cleans.
