Hey guys, so I've been training for a little more than a year now and for the last half year I've been doing:
Mo, Th, Su: Rest
Tu, Fr: Push
We, Sa: Pull
But I'm not sure if recovery is good enough with this, I'm also kind of stalling on some lifts. I've been thinking about switching to a 3 or 5 day split.
A 5 day split sounds great because you can focus on one part and wreck it completely, but is it really enough to hit chest/shoulders/arms just once a week? Does this work for gaining mass?
Or would it be better to hit each muscle every 4-5 days, thus using a 3 day split?
The two most common 5-day splits are brosplits and PHAT. On both, you actually are hitting your muscles twice per week, you're just FOCUSING separately.
One brosplit is
>back & tris (you read that right)
>chest & bis
>legs & shoulders
>abs & arms
>chest & back
You're shoulders get hit nearly every day, but only once directly. Your arm work probably touches torso as well, and vice versa.
PHAT is a lot more promising for a natty. Brosplitting is hard when you're not on gear.

Thanks mate I'll look into PHAT and prob brosplit too, gotta try what works out best.

Did you fail elementary school math?

Brosplit is a waste of time. If you want to train 5-6 x week with 2x week frequency per body part either do PHAT or PPLPPLx, both are great. There's also N-suns which has a ULULUxx and a ULULULx version, it will kick your butt
