Are you supposed to run using your quads or calves primarily?
I've always run mostly using my lower legs to do all the work, but today I tried running using my quads, basically stomping on the ground instead of pulling myself along and it felt less strenuous.

You're supposed to lift your knees high and sweep your leg back. Look up B skips for a drill that exaggerates the running motion. Stomping is totally wrong and will fuck your knees.
