hey /fit/, can I be vegetarian or eat as less meat as possible and still have some gains?
Long story short I got sick, quit the gym, lost 40 pounds, went back to skelly, the food that I used to like makes me wanna puke (rice, red meat, junk food, ham or processed food).
I only wanna eat soup or salads because they are easy on my stomach, but it worries me that I won't be eating enough protein. I actually would like to quit meat long term, or eat it as less as possible.

eat beans. not bush beans but pinto and garbanzos etc. mix them in with soups. also eat brazil nuts. eating meat for gains is a meme anyway

btw i went vegan for about 6 months last year and lost a little fat while i gained about 20 pounds on my bench and 50 pounds give or take on my squat and dead lift. eating mainly beans and potatoes

You don't need to eat animal products to get a lot of protein in your diet.
Beans. Lentils. Peanut butter. Tofu. Quinoa. Almost all greens.
Half casein.

And eat lots of legumes (nuts, beans, lentils) with some grains

normally I dont do this but since you mentioned you were sick, it might be worth considering my advice
stay away from GMO soy and corn. That shit will literally kill your liver, kidney and make your test drop to 1/3 of what it's supposed to be. Shop for organic vegetables, grass-fed meat and seasonal produce
look up the studies on effects of GMO done on rats by that Dr. Gilles-Eric Séralini
