18 year old male, 5 foot 7, 115 lbs. I don't want to get big or jacked or anything I just want my cardio endurance back. I used to be able to run a mile or two with minimal weezing, and I'd like to be back there.

Everytime I even jog at a slow pace my heart rate shoots to what feels like 160 - 190, so I quit before even finishing one fucking lap around my large backyard. I don't get out of breath really unless I keep going and then I only get like half out of breath.

I've suffered from frequent panic attacks for about 6 years now so everytime my heart rate gets up I get a little bit nervous which doesn't help.

My resting heart rate for my entire life has been 85-100, recently it's been in the high 90s even though last week it was in the low 80s.

I just heard the other day that David Letterman ran 6 miles the day before his heart surgery, he had some coronary disease. How is it that a 50 year old with heart troubles can run 6 miles but I can barely do a lap around my backyard before I freak out and quit?

I walked an hour a day for about 2 weeks and my endurance didn't get any better, I feel like it might have even gotten worse.

I either need a heart rate monitor so I can kick it into gear or I need to go to the fuckin hospital.

Also should mention I'm a hypochondriac and always focus on my heart anyway, that probably has something to do with all of this.

That's your fucking problem. Endurance is something you really have to work at. Start with just a little bit, mix up endurance days, HIIT/Fartlek days. Take your time, you'll be fine.

no it's not just that. I worry about dying all the time which is my general anxiety and hypochondria but I also have major panic attacks where my heartrate skyrockets, everything feels unreal, and my arms go numb. Sometimes out of the blue when watching a movie or doing anything sometimes during exercise. But when I get my heart rate up basically my body tells me I'm having a panic attack when I'm not.

try 300mg magnesium and see if you get worse anxiety or it eases up

try zinc too

if that works fix your diet

lifting will help clear your mind too, even if you don't like it, put your favorite music and just lift or do bodyweight exercises (pull ups, dips, incline pushups, whatever)
