Newfag here, what is the difference in results between doing lots of reps with low weight and few reps high weight?

This. But also since you're a dumbass who needs to be spoonfed:
Low weight, more reps: Endurance, maintenance
High weight, fewer reps: Muscle growth
Keep increasing your lifts incrementally until you are happy with your AESTHETICS, then maintain, though that's mostly diet.
