Currently on 4th week of a barbell LP (+ Muay Thai training). Had never worked with a barbell before and I love it.

Found your problem
The higher your heel, the best for you'd squat. The flatter your heel (barefoot being the most extreme scenario) the best for your DL. If you always train barefoot, your DL is at an advantage and your squat is at a disadvantage.
Keep DLing barefoot (or use all stars or something super flat) and invest in a hard sole high heel WLing shoe for squats and press.

I think it depends on how competitive you are (want to be) in weightlifting, how high a level the rugby team is, how often you'd have to practice, how often you want to/have to lift...
Also getting bigger is always better for rugby, so if you're in a lighter weight class for WL...

My club is a low-level amateur club (we play in the lowest regional division) and we practice once a week, so my lifting doesn't interfere very much. But I also just lift "for fun" and for general strength/fitness, I don't have to peak or make weight or whatever.

6'4 215lbs right now. Went from 205 to 215 in about 2 months. Not happy.

Used to be nearly 400lbs.

Full body 3x a week.

End goal is to eventually be 230lbs+ in a few years with a respectable body composition but I refuse to get there with nothing to show for it but fatceps. fat face and a belly. Gonna cut back down to 205-200lbs and take it slower with the food surplus (being a former fatty I still have problems with food).

I basically am going for the female version of thicc mode, high muscle % and a bit higher of a bodyfat %. I play rugby on tues and thurs (just 7s though since summer season is short and barely anyone shows up), and am doing SL 5x5 mon weds fri.
