Is there a limit to how heavy of dumbbells I should be using

Is there a limit to how heavy of dumbbells I should be using for Bulgarian split squats? I use 60's now and I don't know if it will get dangerous if I go too high.

I went up to 50kg dumbbells and then ran out so switched to doing BSS in a front squat rack position. It's harder and I had to work back up to 100kg, but my balance and normal back squat improved quicker when I switched to BB rather than DB.

Basically, you can go until you run out of dumbbells.

why not just do them with barbell? is there a reason why you can only do them with dbs?
