How do I improve my overhead press. I'm currently stuck at 105lbs (1RM). I'm stalling big league if you consider that I can bench more than 2pl8.
What do? Right now I'm just doing a lot volume. Did 8x 90lbs the other day but that still isn't enough.

not with a grip like that
she's going to damage her nerves resting the weight so high up on her palm and letting her wrists bend back like that.
Alan Thrall has great cues for OHP, go watch and learn from his video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wol7Hko8RhY

Thrall is good, Rippetoe also has a good vid about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnBmiBqp-AI

By following these 5 simple steps
1. Squeeze your ass tight enough to make dollar pancakes
2. Go suicide grip (srs)
3. Improve your overhead position with mobility work
4. Abdominal work
5. Push press

same as every other plateau.... increase your volume and do other kinds of lifts to supplement it.... also are u seated or standing? standing is much harder

Wtf? I currently have the flu and just did 105lbs x 4. I only bench 1 pl8 and weigh 140lbs.
For shoulders I do OHP 5x5. If I fail a set I take 5lbs off and continue my 5 sets. Once I can do 5x5, I increase by 5lbs. Only other shoulder exercises I do are upright rows and lateral raises and sometimes the shoulder press machine.

What does your programming looks like re: presses in general?
>lifting with weight on 1 side of the bar

You mean my routine? I'm doing Jonnie Candito's 6 week program right now, so I'm OHP'ing 3 times a week right now. But that's the only shoulder movement I do.

adding a 6th, my OHP blew up when I started doing triples

getting the grip right is key imo.
that rippetoe vid is perfect on this

I'll have to check how that program is laid out again but I'm quite positive it prioritizes bench over ohp. Maybe switch how the ohp is programmed with the bench? I'll get back at you in a minute.

Okay op, either
>make The Press™ a main lift and bench an accessory, or
>just do more sets of ohp and cut out other shoulder and tricep exercises if you're doing any.
Good luck.
