Is there anything wrong with using a Smith Machine?
machines are for fags, free weights all day every day
use spotters while using smith

Is your goal aesthetics? If yes, then it doesn't matter. Use whatever you want.

isnt the point of smith machines that you dont need spotters

It's a machine. And people use it as a replacement for free-weight exercises.
That's what's wrong with smith machines.
You don't make gains as well as you would if you used free weights. And if you DO want to move onto freeweights later on, it would be harder since your form is fucked up from using the smith all the time.

No. Smith machines are acceptable only in case of injury or for isolation at very advanced levels. And for few exercises.

And no. You're just kidding yourself.

spotters are for fags. You finish the set or you die.
Squatting in the smith reduces the load on your stabilizing muscles - less core, more isolation; which means you will, long term, develop an imbalanced physique. This leads to higher chance of injury.
You might get legs able to squat 160kg but no core to balance your body

I only use them for doing hack squats and standing calf raises, but the smith machines in my gym are slightly slanted.

the point of racks is you don't need a spotter. you fail a rep, just let it fall on the safeties, no problem. a smith machine, if you can't get it back on the pegs you're in a worse position than you would be without anything
Newbie here: what are Smith machines actually for? I see people using them to do what look like normal barbell exercises, so why bother with the machine at all? What does it do that free weights don't?
Weird one, but recently when doing squats on the smiths I've been getting a bit neck pain but also a mix of nausea and a feeling like someone is restricting my breathing by pressing on my windpipe. What the hell?

Delayed Onset Death
Depends on the movements, I wouldn't suggest squats

Of course.
