love how dyels think that's not how youre supposed to do skullcrushers. if youre doing them without moving your elbows, youre doing them wrong. the long head of the triceps is responsible for adduction of the humerus along the sagittal plane (in addition to elbow flexion). by keeping your elbows fixed in place (like how people assume youre supposed to do them) you practically remove the a lot of the long head's involvement in the lift. if youve been doing skullcrushers without moving your elbows, try going behind your head next time, you will actually feel tricep doms.

If you follow the PROPER form, the form I outlined, you will be using the squat for what it was intended: For your glutes, your quads, your hamstrings, and your abdominals.
There is no benefit from going below 90 degrees, you are hyper-extending your ligaments and you are going to end up with back/knee problems.

This chart assumes that your knees are in line with your toes and you are using proper form.
The reason why people use bad form is because the body can't naturally obtain a lower than 90 degree angle when using proper form, so they modify it and push their knees further than their toes, otherwise they would fall on their ass from the weight backwards.
The lower you go with your ass, the more your knees go beyond your toes. Keep your knees in line with your toes and your ass at or above 90 degrees.
