Stock up on pain killers for the headaches, just check to make sure they don't have caffeine in them.

Cold turkey. That's how I did it. Was drinking a Diet Coke and said "this is my last one." Haven't had any caffeine in 7 months.

Either quit cold turkey or drink weak coffee/tea instead. Withdrawals can be staved off even with a tiny dose of caffeine.
