Can someone explain why beyond 5/3/1 is 7 weeks instead of 4?

>1 3 5 ...
>the answer is 7
>5/3/1
that's all you needed to say; you didn't need to say that you're a retard for us to know it.

Original 531 is 3 weeks + 1 deload week
New 531 is two cycles of 531 + deload
3+3+1=7
>>42251573
Because a deload week every cycle isn't necessary. You're just not fatiguing yourself enough to warrant that.

>tfw deloaded on week 4

Thanks, I get it now. How much do I increase next cycle?
>>42251666
you still increase the TM every cycle by the same amount. (5/10lbs for upper/lower body lifts respectively)
Another info that could be useful: "5 forward, 3 back". That's not in the book, that's a more recent development, that's come out of Jim's private forum.
Basically, you increase the training max for 5 cycles, then take 3 steps back, then increase for 5 again, and so on.
So, if you're starting TM is 100, you increase it by the normal amount for 5 cycles:
100>110>120>130>140>150
now you go back three cycles
120
and then continue increasing
130>140>150>160>170
go back 3 again
140
increase for 5
150>160>170>180>190
and so forth

Sorry that you failed math anon
Basic 531 is best. Ignore beyond 531
>>42253818
why would you intentionally mislead people into doing a routine with one working set a week per exercise
>>42253818
FSL and joker sets are GOAT.
