I just started calorie counting and the amount of calories I need to maintain my weight is 2000, and I've started eating 1000 calories a day to lose weight. Problem is though, I don't even feel much different. I don't even feel like I'm really eating less, and yet I ballooned up to be a lard ass. Granted I did have a habit of binge eating and could eat 3000 calories a day doing that, but is eating 1000 calories a day really going to help me lose weight? I feel like I should be eating less because I don't even feel hungry doing this. Doesn't feel like a diet.

If you don't feel hungry you're eating too much.
Try 600 or so.
If you can go down to 400 calories a day without feeling hungry you might have Chronic liver disease or HIV.

Alright I'll try 600. I think that's when it feels right.

I'm not eating an insane amount of protein. I'm vegan and will typically eat like a basic protein and then the rest is fruit and veggies. I do always get more than I need though.
Today I ate 1400 calories though (I went on a pretty decent bike ride and usually I'm sedentary so I figured I could get away with it especially since yesterday I ate 666 calories) and I feel stuffed to the brim and full of regrets because I totally didn't need to eat that much.
