Do squats/deadlifts make you shorter?
>>42233018
Only if you're <18
If they do, they can easily be counteracted by dead hangs or foot-weighted pullups at the end of your workout
Also good to relieve tension in the spine

I have been doing them for 6 years and it hasn't had an effect on my height.
I started lifting at 23 though.
MOOOOOOOODS
>>42233018
I started lifting at 19 and have grown ~2cm since. purely anecdotal, but maybe lifting released hormones and ave me a late growth spurt or some shit
spinal compression will make you shorter temporarily tho. you will probably be a bit shorter straight after having 200kg on your back until you stretch out again

>grown ~2cm since
>a late growth spurt
You just measured yourself in the morning instead of the evening.

Im consistently taller than I was at 19

>also, good to relieve tension in the spine
i do weighted dips for this reason. Feels like an adjustment is being made
Yes
And then you finish your rep and you're the same height again

Nice
When I started squatting I was 6'2 now I'm 5'10 and confined to the manlet pit at my gym

ha
>>42233018
not if you hang from a pull-up bar right after and have your gym bro pull down on your feet
>>42233087
If you're having any spinal compression then your form is shit
The back is not vertical in a squat for high or low bar. That's a stupid crossfit meme pushed to sell overpriced mobility gear.

youre a fucking moron and I guarantee I squat more than you. your spine doesnt have to be vertical to be compressed. a basic understanding of physics shows this. also Ive seen alot of this anti-upright squatting shit here lately. I assume its because of all the summer fags who just read starting strength and think rips squat is the only correct way. please fucking educate yourself before you start posting advice, we have enough of that already
