5k is GOAT. I ran 15k in 1h19min and I felt awful. My joints hurt and I got blisters. It was such a grind, not to mention how boring it was. 5k on the other hand is a quick run that makes you feel good.
If you want to do cardio with longer durations, go swim, bike or row. Far easier on your body.

Bike trips are fun if you can do them with friends. It's a fun way to explore the countryside too. I'd prefer a whole afternoon of mountainbiking over a 15k run desu.

Everything else (pull ups/push ups/sit ups and shit) is solid above the requirements. But my cardio and speed is lacking when running...

I agree.
It feels that I get more energy after a workout if I run an intense 5k.
When I run 10k, if feels like I'm breaking down the body and I don't feel much energy after the workout.
I really enjoy shorter more intense runs than longer slower runs overall.
